Bhigwan- Mini Bharatpur |
Bhigwan Mini Bharatpur in maharashtra. A small town on the border of Pune and Solapur district in Central Maharashtra, India. It is located on the Pune-Solapur Highway around 105 km from Pune on the backwaters of Ujani dam. Bhigwan is famous for birdwatching, especially flamingo and wildlife photography.Ducks, Herons, Egrets, Raptors and Waders with more than 230 species found here. One can also see painted storks, barheaded geese, demoiselle cranes, etc.
The backwaters of Ujjani Dam is wintering home for list of migratory birds such as Greater Flamingo, Eurasian Spoonbill, Bar Headed Goose, Collared Pratincole and the Osprey, bird of prey. Bhigwan is also home to the fastest bird of animal kingdom - the Peregrine falcon. Kumbhargaon and Diksal are two most popular Flamingoes watching spots in Bhigwan

Do's |
|
|
- Carry clothes that will help
you camouflage with the surroundings.
- Always carry original identity
proof.
- Follow strict timings as given
by your team leader to avoid delay in
any activities as safaris are group
events.
- Enjoy nature and surrounding
area in the jungle while you in safari
with your group.
- Always keep your phone on silent
or airplane mode when entering forest.
- Cover your face with a scarf
to protect it from dust.
- Also carry extra batteries,
memory cards for camera
- Cloth/Cover to protect the camera/binoculars
etc. from dust.
- Option to Carry Sunscreen (fragrance-free).
- Always remain calm & composed
when any sighting takes place. Remember
patience is the only key.
- Your guide/mentor/leader know
the area inside the forest better than
anyone, so do co-operate with
them.
- Always respect your local guide/driver
and their knowledge about the forest during
the safari.

Don'ts |

- Do not litter in forest and
surrounding areas.
- Do not throw anything out of
the gypsy.
- No one is allowed to get down
from the gypsy inside the forest.
- Do not yell, scream or wave
at the animals.
- Do not wear brightly colored
clothes or apply any kind of perfumes
or deodorants.
- Never feed any animals.
- Do not play any loud music in
vicinity of the forest area.
- Do not argue with any person
like forest guards, guides, locals or
even travellers from another gypsy
during the safari.
